Honourable Delegates,

On behalf of the organizing team I have the immense pleasure to invite you to attend the first International Balkan Relations Summit, to be held from 12-15 September in Pogradec, Albania.

The main objective of the Summit is to identify and coordinate regarding Balkan Problems in the wider Balkan region, and to pave the way for future inclusion of all Balkan countries into diplomacy. What are the Western Balkans like now? There have been major changes in the past decade. Though most countries face quite pressing issues the capitals and main cities are all lively and welcoming, with each retains a distinct character. Croatia is prosperous and joined the EU in the summer of 2013.

The Balkans, also called the Balkan Peninsula, easternmost of Europe’s three great southern peninsulas, is usually said to comprise of Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo, Montenegro,Macedonia, Albania, Bulgaria, Romania, and Moldova. However, there is no universal agreement on the region’s components. Some define the region in cultural and historical terms, and others more geographically, and there are many different interpretations among historians and geographers.

At BIRS we will aim to make a step forward for the Balkan Peninsula, which  has always faced troubles and problems concerning political, ethnic, economic and territorial issues. From these issues originated many conflicts that vibrated world politics. But, we believe that youth can play a crucial role in making this a better place to live in. Through bringing together brilliant young minds to our conference, sharing ideas and listening to others' input we hope to find new solutions, that is our biggest goal.

I am sure that your perfomance as ambassador of one of the Balkan Countries will help us to identify the problems of the Balkans, offering innovative solutions, and reaching a conclusion using logical argumentation, and make a step forwards towards ending the history of problems in the Balkans.

With great enthusiasm and a lot of respect for you I am waiting for you for this summit in Albania. Your ambassadorship provides us with huge hope.

Yours Sincerely,

Klevis Rreshka.
